The CLCS Varsity Volleyball Team learned several important lessons since their initial meeting with Faith Victoria early in the season and capitalized on a few big runs Friday night to take them to 4 games.

In Game 1, the Lady Eagles fell behind early but were able to close the gap thanks to some errors by the Lady Cougars. However, Faith prevailed and won 18-25.

Game 2 had everyone on the edge of their seats with anticipation. The Lady Eagles' lead vacillated between one and two points for most of the game. A couple of key kills for Middle Blockers, Anna Flipse & Haley Sheldon gave CLCS the advantage, and the Cougars never recovered. Lady Eagles Coach, Mike Ritthaler, said that his team was able to limit their mental mistakes in the second game which resulted in a win.

In Game 3, both teams matched each other literally point for point. However, back to back aces and some strategic kills by the Lady Cougars put them in the lead. Game 2 = Cougars 2 games, Eagles 1.

CLCS got unlucky in Game 4 with lots of fluke shanks and several missed kill attempts. Even with a valiant effort from the CLCS team, Faith pulled away with a lead and eventually a match win. "It was probably our mental focus," said Ritthaler, "We are physically capable of playing with Victoria Faith and staying with them, but we tend to lose mental focus at crucial times."
